It was with great sadness I heard the news yesterday of the death of Bill Millin, the Piper of the famed D-Day landings. It seemed especially poignant as there were plans to erect a statue commemorating Bill and his heroic behaviour. It was to be attended by Bill this year, unfortunately the fundraising for the statue fell short of the mark and was put off until what was hoped would be next year. How very sad Bill won't see the conclusion of the Honour which was due to him. This is the link to the Bill Millin Association if you'd like to ensure it happens SOON.
